A George III Mahogany Partner’s Desk

The rectangular moulded top with later green tooled leather writing surface above three frieze drawers to each side of the kneehole, the opposing side with three frieze drawers above a pair of panelled cupboard doors, each enclosing later shelves and slides, on a moulded plinth base.

The top of the pedestal is signed in pencil with the initials ‘G W’ and two of the bottom drawers are signed ‘from Lady Perry’.

NB: The ‘square’ handle pattern was one often utilized by Gillows in the 1790s.
