The solid-wood table with a rectangular top with re-entrant corners above a long frieze drawer with two brass drop handles and a central shaped oval escutcheon, the interior divided into four sections, over a shaped apron, supported on turned walnut legs and pad feet.

Small tables with single drawers were used throughout Georgian houses for a wide variety of purposes. However, it is more unusual to find one made in burr elm, which results in a striking, rippled figuring.

Thomas Coulborn & Sons has previously sold several notable pieces in burr woods include an 18th century burr oak lowboy and a George III Boarded and Joined Pollard-Oak Curved Box-Settle.
