Each with a moulded curved rectangular base, octagonal baluster stem and moulded circular socket.
In the last quarter of the 17th century, brass candlesticks had begun to imitate designs made in silver. It is therefore possible to accurately date brass examples based on those of marked silver.
The production of brass candlesticks evolved during this period and the socket, stem and base were cast in two halves and joined, which meant that more elaborate designs with curved and stepped bases and octagonal faceted stems were possible.
