Many of the elements of this design are similar to cassolettes from workshop of Matthew Boulton. A set of four cassolettes sold by Jeremy Ltd are of similar form.
A similar cassolette with a body made of Blue John is housed in the National Trust collection at Cliveden Estate, Buckinghamshire (item number NT765970) and a pair are housed in the Royal Collection, Frogmore House (no. 53328).
