With a serpentine top enclosed by a pierced gallery within a gadrooned border supported on carved fluted and tapering square legs tied with an arcaded X-shaped stretcher with C-scroll carving and topped by a central ovoid finial, raised on block feet.
The form of this stand has several features in common with Thomas Chippendale's 'China Table' patterns published in his Gentleman and Cabinet-Maker's Director of 1754, pl. XXXIV in the 1754 and 1755 editions (renumbered as plate LI in the 1762 edition).
